This week was a little slow on the recruiting news front (everyone must be on vacation) but that didn’t stop us from being productive, wrapping up a few ad deals, announcing our Podcast — although we haven’t picked a start date — and finalizing our plans for increased on-the-field Pitt football coverage. And we still had time to put out 14 articles (including this one), not too shabby.
PITT SEASON OPENER ALERT: We’re only 41 days until the Pitt home opener vs. Villanova. That’s practically countdown-able.
MONDAY
- Monday’s recruiting notebook had updates on, among others, Tyree Johnson (Pitt made his list of top 12 schools) and Ellison Hubbard, who had his scholarship offer rescinded by the Pitt coaches.
- For the basketball crowd, we had info on a 4-star forward who has Pitt high on his list.
- Suzie McConnell-Serio guided the U18 team to gold in the FIBA Americas tournament. The US women dominated the entire tournament, punctuating the proceedings with a 109-62 victory over Canada in the finals.
- Cardiac Hill had a fun feature on the top ten NBA/ABA careers of Pitt alumni.
TUESDAY
- Pitt has some competition for Ohio 3-star CB Josiah Scott.
- Georgia Tech’s SB Nation site is picking Pitt to win the ACC Coastal.
- Cardiac Hill has the scoop on the new ACC Network coming in 2019.
WEDNESDAY
- Good news for Pitt fans, 247 sports is predicting a 4-star recruit will sign with Pitt.
- Pitt is heavily recruiting some talented CBs, but which ones will sign with the team?
- Part 1 of our interview with Lamont Wade.
- John Harris at the Trib reports that Pitt players “say they have more offensive freedom under Kevin Stallings.”
