Big day over at the Pitt football facility as its Day 2 of their first weekend of football camps. From what I understand, more prospects with Pitt offers and kids with a better chance of landing an offer will be on the South Side.

Like yesterday, we’ll have coverage for you all day. I expect a few kids to get offers and there’s a chance of another commitment. Today, we’re also going to have a video interview with a prospect that worked out yesterday and also Aliquippa star safety Kwantel Raines.

Let’s get started!

**Pitt will have 2 big recruiting targets at the workout today. Both Beaver Falls DT Donovan Jeter and Cincinnati, Ohio OT Thayer Munford will be around the Pitt program today.

Munford is a 3-star lineman who’s received an offer from Pitt early. The big lineman (6-6, 325) from LaSalle High School also holds offers from Penn State,  Louisville, Maryland, Purdue and Illinois. I’m hearing that Munford is high on Pitt, let’s see what develops from this today.

Everyone knows about Jeter and his talent level.  Most look at him as a Pitt lean but with a recent offer from Alabama and other big programs, anything can happen.

UPDATE (8:20 AM)-

**Depending on what the Pitt coaches see, one player that definitely could be in line for a scholarship offer is Pickerington, Ohio RB Morgan Ellison, He’s a player that Pitt has been in contact with and has been a star at recent All-Star camps. The thing that’s holding back a lot of schools from offering Ellison is a lack of game tape. He missed most of last season with an injury.

UPDATE (8:33 AM)-

**Alabama LB Cam Bright will make a return visit to Pitt today.   Bright and his mother visited the campus earlier this week and he decided to come back today for the camp. Following today, Bright told me that he’ll be making visits to Bowling Green and Miami of Ohio on Monday and Tuesday.   Bright is definitely a candidate to commit.

UPDATE (9:32 AM)-

**Another local player at Pitt today is Central Catholic linebacker Tim Terry.  We hope to talk to Terry after the workout.

UPDATE (1:32 PM)-

**According to Chris Peak of Panther-lair.com, University Prep star linebacker Kenny Robinson is visiting Pitt today.

UPDATE (1:45 PM)-

**This coming Tuesday, Pitt will be getting an out of town visitor. Javar Garrett from Carneys Point, New Jersey will make his way to Pittsburgh to check out the Panthers.

Garrett is a 2018 recruit and tells me that Pitt is recruiting him a s an outside linebacker. The New Jersey native holds early offers from Indiana, Rutgers and Temple while getting interest from Stanford, Boston College, Maryland, Navy and Louisville.

“I’m coming to Pitt this weekend because they’re possibly working me out and I wanted to get out there and start building a better relationship with the coaches and to see the campus more”, said Garrett.

“Pitt really interests me because they have produced an enormous amount of great defensive prospects that have went on to the NFL and been successful.”

UPDATE (5:09 PM)-

**Bethlehem, PA WR Darian Street tells me that he plans on making his college decision tomorrow at 3 PM.  Originally, Street planned on announcing his decision on June 18.  From what I understand, Street will decide between Pitt and UConn.  I’d be stunned if he doesn’t pick Pitt.

UPDATE (6:22 PM)-

**Following today’s camp, Pat Narduzzi decided to offer to scholarship to a player from Ohio.  Defensive tackle Carson Van Lynn (6-6, 242) from Columbus, Ohio received the good news.  Rivals rates Van Lynn as a 3-star recruit and he has offers from Rutgers. Boston College, Purdue, Wake Forest, Kentucky and Iowa Stare.

**Talked to a couple recruits that were looking for a scholarship and got their reaction to the weekend.

Central Catholic LB Tim Terry tells me that “it went good and they said that they’ll have to evaluate  the tapes and they’ll get back to me.”

Eastmoor Academy High School (Columbus, Ohio) linebacker Calvin Twyman told me, “It went well. I did OK in the beginning during the 1-on-1’s. I had to get warmed up, then I didn’t do good towards the end. But then the 7 on 7’s came and I did well in that as well.”

Peddie School (Highstown, New Jersey) 2018 offensive lineman Evan Lovell said that after the workout he had a long talk with Coach Peterson and Coach Salem. “They told me they were thrilled to have me there and that they want me to come visit again and maybe come down for a game in the fall.”

Briar Woods High School (Ashburn, VA) wide receiver/tight end Ben Maffe said “I talked with Coach Salem and Coach Sherman and they liked what they saw and said they’ll let me know what’s going on in the next 2 weeks.”

UPDATE (6:50 PM)-

Source told me that New Castle 2017 athlete Geno Stone had a really good day today and made a big impression.

“It was great all around and I talked to basically all the coaches. They told me they were going to evaluate the film and get back to me in the next week and haven’t said much about an offer yet”, said Stone.

UPDATE (8:16 PM)-

**Knoch 2017 TE Mac Christy says the Pitt workout “went really good! I talked with Coach Salem for awhile after the camp. He said they will evaluate my film and contact me sometime this week.”
